Gillibrand in the News

Kirsten Gillibrand is in the DCCC "Red to Blue" Roster as reported by CQPolitics.

Should we look for an update of the Capitol Confidential Blog after the "About that National Cash" Post?

WTEN quoted Gillibrand in their story about Sweeney badmouthing Pataki:

Kirsten Gillibrand, says Sweeney is right about one thing: republicans facing a tough time in November.

The Post Star says that Gillibrand Will Not Face a Primary:

Two candidates dropped out of the race for the Democratic nomination in the 20th Congressional District on Thursday, clearing the way for Kirsten Gillibrand to claim the party's line without a primary challenge.

Edwin Pell and Morris Guller issued a joint press release stating they will not submit nominating petitions so Gillibrand can have "an unimpeded opportunity" to challenge incumbent U.S. Rep. John Sweeney, R-Clifton Park.

Gillibrand, in a telephone interview Thursday afternoon, said she was not aware the other two candidates had dropped their bids for the Democratic nomination.

"She's earned the right to be the Democratic nominee," said Guller, who said he will remain in the race on the Liberal line.

(Note: Guller captured 0.5% of the vote in the 2004 election on an independent line. Source)
